Routines, relationships and expectations have been the focus of this week’s class sessions. The children have very much settled into school life and have already adjusted to their daily timetable.
It was great to see such a great turn out of parents at this week’s Milepost presentations. We hope the sessions were informative. The information from the presentations is now available on iSams and the school website.
In order to continue to support our parents, the school will be hosting English, English as a second language, phonics and Maths workshops. These will take place later in the term. We would also like to invite all our parents along to our Class in Action days next week. These will be held on the following days:
Year 5/6 Monday, 18th September, 7.45am to 8.45am
Year 3/4 Tuesday, 19th September, 7.45am to 8.45am
Year 1/2 Wednesday, 20th September, 7.45am to 8.45am
On Thursday, 21st September we will also be hosting our Early Years Parents presentation. This will take place in the Morgan Hall from 7.30am to 8.15am.
Our first FCS (Friends of Compass meeting) will take place on the 10th October. We welcome all our parents to come along. Please contact Claire Smith, the school’s FCS Chairperson, if you are interested in joining the team. The meetings are great fun and a fantastic way to meet other parents.
Thank you for signing up for our ECAs. We have had many requests from parents who would like their child to master a musical instrument, with many children opting to dance or join the school choir. We are extremely pleased with the response. All parents should have received ECA details today. Any issues, please contact Helen Stevenson, the school secretary. A polite reminder that children attending ECAs must be collected promptly at 2.30pm.
A quick head’s up that in November the school will be hosting a Family Breakfast and Table Top sale. This will take place on Friday, 10th November. More information will follow in the next few weeks.
I would like to end this message by thanking parents for a very positive start to the school term. Have a relaxing weekend.
