Madinat Khalifa Primary Headlines | Monday 10 December

Dear Parents,

MK Variety Show

Wednesday night saw the wonderful Variety Show, which featured a number of our primary students performing solo pieces on the piano, as part of Jazz band or singing as part of the choir. Well done to all of the students performed with such confidence and composure. It is also included the inspiring performance of the community choir, a group made up of parents and teacher, their medley of songs was a sight (and sound) to behold. We look forward the ranks of the choir swelling as year progresses.

Qatar National Day Celebrations

Today saw our Qatar National Day celebrations. It started with a fantastic assembly led by our Arabic students. Many thanks to Mrs Enaam, Mrs Sahar and Ms Somaia for their hard work ensuring this was a success. Students also had the opportunity to sample some traditional dishes and drinks, and marvel at the falcons and camels that visited the school.

These two events really epitomised many of the school’s strengths. The opportunities for students to take risks in a safe and supportive environment, the need to collaborate with others to be successful and demonstrating great resilience when things don’t run perfectly to plan. I left both fantastic events with a great sense of pride in our students, teachers and whole community as a whole.

The Power of Taking Risks

If you haven’t already, I would urge you to read an excellent article written by our very own Mr McArtney about the power of taking risks. This article really sums up our approach to education and ensuring that all students feel safe and secure in school, and are willing to take risks and see failure as something to embrace and learn from rather than something to fear.

Have a fantastic week.

Jimmy Frawley, Head of Primary
