This week in Year 4C we have been focusing on money in Maths! The children first dealt with place value of decimals and practised their column addition and subtraction with decimals. They were then given a challenge to plan a camping trip to the desert for 4 people. There was a list of supplies and food they needed to buy.
The class was told to use amazon.co.uk and tesco.co.uk/groceries to find different options for each item such as torches, sleeping bags, burgers to mention a few. They were given a budget of £300. They then had to add up their spending and see how much money they have left over.
The children loved the challenge and came up with some very sensible and interesting ideas of how to save money and budget.
The majority of our class have also been working very hard practising most days for our school production Circus Rayaan. The rest of our class have helped out with their singing and been very sensible during rehearsal.
Overall, a jam packed week for 4C!
