Dear Parents,

As we reach half term, it is amazing to see how much progress and learning has taken place in school in such a short time.

It was a pleasure to see so many happy parents and students at both our Primary and Secondary Parent Teacher Consultations last week. Our team are working hard to ensure that your child is ambitious in their learning and on the right track. If you have any concerns about your child’s progress, please contact the Form Tutor or Class Teacher in the first instance.

Our Parent Seminar series continues this term with presentations on key curriculum areas. If there is a subject you would like to hear about, please let us know. Timings are flexible so we can arrange slots to suit parent’s availability.

Our new Librarian, Miriam Ahmed, is making great headway in setting up the library and cataloguing the books. If you have some spare time and would like to assist in the library, please contact her on mariam.ahmed@nais.qa

Friends of Compass School (FCS) launched their House Mascot Competition at assembly on Thursday. We are looking forward to receiving entries from all year groups and choosing the new House Mascot. If your child would like to enter, please ask the Class Teacher for an entry form.

We held the first Themaid House Assembly last Thursday when both Primary and Secondary got together in their Houses to compose a House chant and perform it to the school. House points for the month were eagerly counted with East emerging as the first winner this term. Congratulations to East!

In Primary, the student with most House points in each class was presented with a House certificate. Well done to all our certificate winners in being ambitious and earning so many House points for being model students.

Next week we look forward to welcoming Qatar Airways to school to introduce the Pilot Training Programme to our secondary students. Further information will be sent next week.

Have a lovely half term break and we look forward to welcoming you back to school on Sunday, 27 October 2019.

Kind regards,

Mrs Djedid
