This week our MK Primary Eco-Warriors led an assembly highlighting the problems of single-use plastic and the benefits of recycling.
The student-led assembly demonstrated the small changes we can all make to help the environment and how these small changes can have a huge impact.
For example, the Eco-Warriors highlighted water bottles as a problem that can be easily solved. The students and teachers were encouraged to all use refillable water bottles and even this small step would save 7,200 plastic water bottles from MK Primary a month! The students even have a solution for those students who forget their water bottle – rather than using a disposable cup, the Eco-Warriors have a bank of water bottles that can be borrowed for the day.
The students also encouraged the students to try the 30-day plastic-free challenge and Meatless Mondays. They themselves are going to attempt these challenges and report back in the new term.
It is an absolute privilege to see this group of Year 1 to 6 students speak so passionately about the issues the planet faces and the steps we can take as individuals, and as a school, to help make the world a better place. Many thanks to Miss Fogarty for guiding and supporting the Eco-Warriors with such commitment.
MK Primary Qatar National Day Celebration
One of the highlights of the school year is our Qatar National Day Celebration Assembly. The students and teachers have been working hard preparing the assembly. We look forward to seeing many of you on Thursday at 7:30 am to join in with the celebration.
Have a wonderful week.
