Dear Parents,

Following an exhausting week of sports days we hope your children are feeling energised and are now enjoying their half term break.

Parents who were able to attend the Sports days were delighted to share a memorable experience in their child’s school career.  All children from Early Years to Y6 participated in sporting activities earning points at each station.  The points were added up and the winning team was announced in Thursday’s sports assembly.  This term, we have combined our results with those from the Rayyan and Madinat Khalifa campuses and a trophy was presented to the winning House team.  Thank you to our fantastic PE department for organising the week and to all our children who demonstrated resilience and determination.

On Monday, the FCS (Friends of Compass) team organised a Parents Health and Fitness morning.  There was a good turnout from parents who joined in exercise classes including yoga and Zumba.  Children enjoyed learning about martial arts and had a go at Boxercise.  Nurse Amy was also stationed on the playground testing blood pressure and blood sugar.  Healthy snacks and other information health related information was also shared at the event.  It was lovely to see a few new faces on the campus.  I’d like to take this opportunity to thank Matina (FCS chairperson) and our wonderful FCS team for making the morning happen.  It was a great success.

In Thursday’s assembly we congratulated a number of successful EAL children who recently passed their Cambridge Exam.  Well done to all the children.

Parents will have received a paper copy of the Parent Teacher Consultation form on Thursday.  It is important that all families make an appointment with the class teacher and specialist teachers to discuss their child’s progress and areas for development.  If you are unable to attend the consultation, please arrange a date when you are available for a short meeting.  Teachers will be contacting all parents who are unable to attend.

Thank you once again to all our parents.  Without your dedication and support, the school wouldn’t be such a vibrant community.

Enjoy your half term break.  We look forward to seeing all our families at 7.15am on Sunday 17 February.

Kind regards,

Karen Wilson
