Dear Parents,

‘Sports build good habits, confidence, and discipline. They make players into community leaders and teach them how to strive for a goal, handle mistakes, and cherish growth opportunities.’  Julie Foudy.

In keeping with the Qatar Men’s Football team’s historic win at the Asian Cup. There has been a sporting theme weaved throughout the week at Compass International School Doha.

Starting with Sunday’s assembly, where we focussed on athletes that embody each of our personal goals of Respect, Thoughtfulness, Enquiry, Cooperation, Resilience, Morality, Communication and Enquiry. The students were also encouraged to describe how the Qatar football team demonstrated these attributes throughout their successful campaign.

As well as participating in the Mile Post 2 Sports day, our Year 6 students played a pivotal role in the Mile Post 1 and 2 Sports day, ably supporting our teachers at each of the activity stations. Their clear explanations and positive encouragement ensured that all of our Year 1-4 students enjoyed participating in the Sports Day! Many thanks to our PE staff, class teachers and learning assistants and parents for their support throughout this event.

I hope that you have an enjoyable break and we look forward to welcoming you back to school on Sunday 17th February.

Jimmy Frawley, Head of Primary
