Last week we immersed ourselves in books and celebrated authors from around the globe. From Tuesday onwards, the children engaged in a wide range of activities such as a book character scavenger hunt and other book-related problems. The school welcomed local authors who spoke to the children about their books and the inspiration behind their stories. On Thursday, our Book Days' celebration culminated in a special assembly where the children had the opportunity to parade their costumes and share their classwork. Thank you to Ms. Sanders, our campus English Coordinator, for organising the Book Days and to our wonderful team for continuing to inspire our children.
This morning, the school held a presentation to showcase the school’s new campus, Themaid. If you were unable to attend the meeting but would very much like to find out more about the new school then please contact the school’s Admissions Team who will be more than happy to discuss our new campus.
Tomorrow, the school will be focussing on Internet Safety. In all classrooms, the students will be learning about correct internet usage and the positive and negative aspects of social media. A presentation for parents will be held at 8.15am in the Morgan Hall. I would very much recommend that all our parents attend this meeting.
Thank you to the school’s Friends of Compass School (FCS) Team who have sold tickets daily for the Compass Iftar on Thursday, 16 May at QNCC. The school has sold over 200 tickets for this event. We look forward to seeing our families at 5.45pm.
Our new school nurse, Nurse Stephanie, has settled well into our school and is enjoying being part of our school community. If you haven’t had the opportunity to meet Nurse Stephanie then please do call in to see her. She’s a wonderful addition to the school.
Parents, we do have one more dressing up day this term. On Thursday, 23 May the school will be focussing on the environment when we celebrate World Environment Day. We are asking all our children to come to school dressed in green.
Thank you to all our families who are battling their way through the traffic and roadworks in order to arrive at school before we blow the whistle at 8.00 am. By arriving at school on time, you are ensuring that the lesson is not interrupted and the flow of the lesson isn’t affected along with adhering to our school's Attendance Policy found here.
Have an enjoyable week.
