Firstly, I would like to wish all of our students and families Ramadan Kareem.
MK Student Leadership Project
“If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you are a leader.” – John Quincy Adams
Each year, Global Campus sets schools the challenge of creating a project in order to tackle one or more of the 17 UNICEF Sustainable Development Goals. These goals have been chosen by world leaders and aim to make the world a better place.
This year, our Student Leadership Team at Madinat Khalifa focused on Goal 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions. With complete autonomy over the running of a project of their choice, the students made four plans to try to include all members of our staff community.
With a new cleaning and maintenance team joining our school this year, students felt it was important and targeted the Development Goal well. So far, they have achieved two of their projects which have positively impacted how staff feel included as part of our Compass community. Here is a video of their journey so far: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kdcBp2M2RT0. You may also view it on our Facebook and Instagram pages.
It has been an absolute joy to watch the Student Leadership Team, supported by Mr McArtney, take such a prominent role in further improving the school’s relationship with all community stakeholders.
Attendance and Punctuality
Despite the shortened hours, it is business as usual in the Madinat Khalifa Primary School. New learning experiences continue as do ongoing teacher assessments that enable each student to reach their full academic potential. To ensure this continues for all students that they attend each and every day and arrive on time and ready to learn. Please find our behaviour and attendance policies here.
Have a wonderful week.
Mr Jimmy Frawley
