This school year, IBO has been celebrating its 50th anniversary. At the same time Compass International School Doha has completed its IB Diploma Programme five year review.
In its 50th year, there are currently 4775 IB world schools in 153 countries of which Compass International School Doha is one. Our Year 13 students symbolise the international scope of the IBO. Of 31 students in Year 13, we have 19 different nationalities.
This year, our IB Diploma Programme has undergone its five year review. The review is a rigorous review of every aspect of the delivery of the IB Diploma Programme at our school and includes observations of classroom practice to improve teaching, learning and student attainment, the extent to which our school ‘lives and practices’ the IB philosophy and other fundamental practices which enables the effective delivery of the IB Diploma Programme. Our review was undertaken during a period of continuous year on year improvement and success. By our second exam cohort, we were already exceeding IB world averages in KPI’s such as average points score per student and average grade per subject. Our alumni have gone on to attend high ranking world Universities such as Nanyang Technical University, University of Amsterdam and University of Melbourne.
The IB Diploma Programme at Compass International School Doha is committed to continual improvement and success. We have every confidence both that our Year 13s will excel in their results this year and that our IB five year review will identify the many successes of our programme as well as constructive feedback in ensuring that we grow our IB Diploma Programme and develop every one of our IB Diploma Programme students to reach and exceed their educational potential in this 50th year of the programme.
