MK Primary 2019 Awards

Madinat Khalifa Primary Headlines | Monday, 17 June 2019

Dear Parents,

Firstly, I would like to start by thanking the groups of Primary students and parents that came into school on Sunday to meet with the International Primary Curriculum (IPC) Accreditation team.

The Team commented that this was a great reflection of the community spirit we have at Madinat Khalifa that so many students were willing to come and talk about their learning on their day off!

As many of you already know, Madinat Khalifa, along with our Gharaffa and Rayyan Campuses, have been going through the accreditation process for the IPC. This is a rigorous process and only a handful of schools around the world have this accredited status. We feel very confident that we offer a truly well-rounded and internationally-minded curriculum and will be successful. I look forward to sharing the Team’s report with you when we receive this in a month’s time.

Last week also saw us recognise students for outstanding achievements. Firstly, one of the highlights of the Accelerated Reader Program is that it will count how many words a student has read from the beginning of the school year. I’m delighted to say that two more Primary students have reached the 1-million-word count. Congratulations to Elliot from 5B who has read 1,017, 387 and Nora from 6B who has read 1,560,542 words!

During last week’s assembly, I was also delighted to announce the winners of the 2019 Council of British International Schools (COBIS) Student Achievement Awards. These awards recognise the outstanding achievements and positive contribution to our school and community by our students. Congratulations to our winners Bruno and Allegra both in Year 6, a truly remarkable achievement and thoroughly deserved.

Have a great week.
