Madinat Khalifa Primary Headlines | Monday, 24 June 2019

Dear Parents,

In their penultimate week at Madinat Khalifa Primary, our Year 6 students have been very busy!

On Sunday, Year 6 students from all three campuses descended on Madinat Khalifa to spend the day in Secondary, as part of their transition from Primary school. Throughout the day the students enjoyed a number of lessons led by the secondary staff, found out more about life from the current Year 7s and met the Head of Secondary, Mr Douch. The students returned to Primary effusive about their experience and are already looking forward to next year!

Wednesday saw our Year 6 cross-campus Graduation celebration at Sharq Village and Spa. It was wonderful to see students from all three campuses come together and celebrate this milestone. Highlights from the evening included a very competitive Kahoot quiz and a rather interesting dance-off competition! A huge thank you to our Year 6 teachers and learning assistants for their hard work ensuring the evening was a great success.

On Thursday we recognised the achievements of our Year 6 students and their graduation from Primary to Secondary school. This event was a great way for the students to reflect on their time in Primary, whether that be a few months, a year or the whole of their Primary schooling. I am immensely proud of the focussed, mature individuals they have become. I look forward to seeing the vast majority return for Year 7 and to see their continued progress in Secondary school.

Our Year 3 students ended their International Primary Curriculum (IPC) unit ‘Chocolate’ with a visit to Sharq Village and Spa. There they learned about the processes chefs go through to make a wide variety of delicious chocolatey treats. Then the students got the chance to be chefs and created their own chocolate cookies. It is safe to say that this trip was enjoyed by all.

End of Year Reports

The end of year reports were shared on Thursday. Please do spend the time to read through the report with your child and highlight their successes and ways they can meet the targets set by their class teacher. If you have any questions regarding the report please contact your child’s teacher to arrange a time to meet.

Have a great week.
