As a school, we pride ourselves on the high expectations we have for all of our students. We also recognise the importance of celebrating student successes, whether that be inside or outside of the classroom.
I wanted to highlight some of the ways that we celebrate these successes.
Learning Celebration Assemblies
Each week, a student from each class is acknowledged for their excellence in a particular subject area. This can be an exceptional piece of work, recognition of their high level of effort within lessons, accelerated progress, to name but a few reasons. Each of the subject areas included specialist lessons, are included in these assemblies – this week’s theme is Mathematics.
Star of the Week
The Star of the Week is chosen by the students through the form of a secret vote. Each week students are tasked with looking for the good in their classmates, choosing someone that best exemplifies one or more of our International Primary Curriculum (IPC) Personal Goals.
Students are awarded House Points by their class and specialist teachers, these award categories are linked to the IPC Personal Goals, Be Ambitious and International Mindedness. Through Class Dojo, you will be able see your child’s house point totals and the different reasons to celebrate these awarded points. Over the course of the year students will also receive certificates for reaching different house point milestones.
The students are also recognised for participation in our many sports teams, entries into Nord Anglia competitions, as well as the many out of school successes our students will achieve.
I look forward to sharing more our student successes throughout the school year!
Have a great week,
Head of Primary, Madinat Khalifa
