Madinat Khalifa Secondary Headlines Report | Monday, 16 September 2019

Dear Parents,

It has been a week of trials and not a lot of tribulations.

There was a plethora of sporting try outs going on, with every space that could be used full.  The preparation for production started in earnest with auditions at the weekend.  This year the Secondary production will be taking place in December and so time is of the essence to cast the correct leads and supporting characters.

All of this builds in to what we like to call our ‘Compass Character’.  As expressed at recent parent communication evenings, the excellent academic results are a given at the school.  It’s what else we can do with your children to make them rounded individuals with a great skill set for the outside world that also enables them to succeed.  I read an article this week where a parent simply wants school to make them ‘nice human beings’.  I agree with the sentiment and feel that we meet that need and also extend on it.  For this week’s assembly, the Year 7s and 8s will be spoken to from Doha Environmental Action Projects regarding their place in society and being green in the future.  Another part of the Compass Character will be shown through supporting presentations from the Eco Warriors in the primary school and also a Year 7 that felt passionately regarding sharing her ideas.

Teachers and tutors are looking forward to meeting parents at our school in action and extended tutor time next Tuesday. I look forward to seeing you there.

Yours sincerely
