Dear Parents,

‘Sports build good habits, confidence, and discipline. They make players into community leaders and teach them how to strive for a goal, handle mistakes, and cherish growth opportunities.’  Julie Foudy.

We enjoyed celebrating the MK Primary Sports Days last week and also welcomed Juilliard Dance Specialist, Joshua Palmer, into our PE lessons to support and lead dance sessions.

Juilliard Artist Visit

One of the unique advantages of being a Nord Anglia Education school is the collaborations with world-leading organisations, such as Masschusetts Institute of Technology, UNICEF and The Juilliard School. Last week we welcomed back Joshua Palmer, a distinguished dance specialist from Juilliard, who alongside working with our PE team, also led Dance lessons with our Year 3 and 6 students. The students thoroughly enjoyed these lessons and demonstrated some really creative pathways. Joshua was very impressed with our students’ willingness to learn new techniques and approached these sessions with great enthusiasm.

MK Primary Sports Week

It has been absolute pleasure of watching Milepost Sports Day and what great events they were! In their House teams, all students fully participated in a wide range of traditional and more unique activities. The way the students faced these challenges with enthusiasm and just as impressive was the way in which they supported each other throughout.

A huge thank you to our PE team, Primary Teachers and Learning Assistants that helped support the students and events. An even bigger thank you to our superb student helpers from Year 5 and 6 who took charge of each event by explaining the rules to the Milepost 1 and 2 students (and teachers!) and by offering encouragement to all students that participated. Many thanks to the many parents that came and supported throughout the week.

The Sports Week concluded with a celebration assembly where we recognised the achievements of the many MK Primary sports teams in recent competitions and celebrated student success within PE and swimming lessons. Last, but least, the PE team announced our Sports Week House Champions, the triumphant house being… West!

Have a great week.
