Students and teachers are doing the best that they can to ensure quality and interactive learning is still taking place.  I have received some very positive feedback from you and thank you also for that.

Our initial plan was to have work set for students on Show My Homework whilst we phased in the Microsoft Teams platform.  However, the teachers have done a fantastic job in training themselves up on the use of the platform and utilising its applications that the decision was made to move fully to the Teams platforms from Sunday.  We had already trialled it with Year 11 and 13 classes, allowing for live teaching.  The maths department were at the forefront of this.  Still using the interactive whiteboard and explaining fully, but via the laptop not physically in front of the students.  It also is an excellent way for teachers to give feedback on written tasks. You can watch a guide to using Teams here.

Initial feedback has been too much work was set, and we have responded to that.  The positive of Microsoft Teams is that the teacher is always there in the lesson.  This will be to correct any misunderstandings on the part of the student, answer any questions and to redirect the learning if tasks haven’t been completed or understood, just like they would if they were in the classroom.  On our part it is very much ‘business as usual’, please ensure your child is also following the same mantra.

Please keep the feedback coming and as it is a learning curve, it will also be a cycle of improvement.

Yours sincerely
