Student Life

We offer your child an international outlook, a strong community of friends from around the world and social and academic success. We provide an educational experience which is beyond the ordinary, where your child will be encouraged to 'Be Ambitious' and will exceed all expectations.

  • Our Global Campus

From the first day of school your child will be treated as an individual and understand the relevance of their learning to the world. They will make lifelong friends and achieve academic excellence.

A warm welcome

As an international school, our students all have experience of moving between schools and often between countries. They know what it's like to be the new student in class and will welcome your child with instant friendship.

Where difference is the norm

Your child will join a community that represents 70 nationalities. Difference is not just the norm here, it is our strength. By having friends from around the world your child will develop a deep understanding of different cultures.

Teacher's who know your child’s individual needs

Your child is an individual with their own unique strengths. Our teaching staff will quickly get to know your child and be able to give them the time and attention to tailor their learning experience to match their own individual needs.

An internationally recognised curriculum

In our Early Years programme, we bring together the power of two international programmes to lay a strong foundation for future learning: the British Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum (EYFS) and the topics and themes used in the International Primary Curriculum (IPC).

At Primary level we offer the International Primary Curriculum (IPC), with the British National Curriculum in English and maths. The IPC units takes a contemporary approach to learning linking rigorous lessons to real-world experiences. This theme-based approach to learning makes learning more effective and fun. In addition to the International Curriculum we also offer an Arabic curriculum and a Dutch mother tongue program. Alongside these curricula we  offer a specialised curriculum for our Qatari students that fully complies with the requirements of the Supreme Education Council of Qatar. Our Rayyan campus has a French Bilingual Programme for Years 1 to 6. Children are taught all subjects in French and English by native speaker teachers.  Our Gharaffa campus offers a Dutch Language and Culture programme in Primary at Gharaffa with an integrated school curriculum for native Dutch speakers.

Our lower secondary curriculum at Madinat Khalifa and Themaid draws on the rigorous and respected English National Curriculum, which prepares our students well for the transition to IGCSEs in upper secondary (Years 10 and 11).

In Years 12 and 13 at Madinat Khalifa we offer the highly regarded International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme and future years will accomodate A-Levels and BTECs at our new Themaid campus. These curricula allows our students to reach the standards set by the national education systems worldwide, while building their confidence and leadership and broadening their understanding of world cultures.

As part of the Nord Anglia family of schools our students benefit from the international programmes set out by the group. Our ‘Global Campus’ and all Nord Anglia students are encouraged to learn together through the online community which provides challenging activities, discussions, competitions and tailored resources. This global approach to education provides a truly international experience and expands the student’s horizons providing them with a global perspective.

Such is the commitment of Nord Anglia to education that they have an in-house team of educational experts to plan the curriculum. The most recent programmes are a collaboration with The Julliard School, the world-renowned performing arts conservatory and the introduction of the MIT STEAM programme into all our schools.

An exciting programme of activities, visits and trips

Learning also takes place outside of the classroom. We offer a broad range of extra-curricular activities and after school activities. In Early Years and lower Primary your child will  go on visits and trips linked to the IPC themes that they are working on. Students from Year 5 and 6  upwards go on a number of learning and activity based residential and overseas trips.

From Year 7 upwards a variety of trips are offered on a yearly basis, these include residentials, skiing, geography, history, drama, English through to the yearly trip to Tanzania and MUN. Nord Anglia Education's collaboration with the Juilliard School and MIT offer our students trips, conferences and summer camps.
