Previously to joining NAS I have been Faculty Leader of Expressive and Performing Arts as well as Head of Dance within the UK for the past fifteen years. I have also been fortunate enough to have had a long and fulfilling career as a professional dancer in the UK and also world- wide where my specialism has been in Ballet, Contemporary, Jazz and Tap Dance and I also hold an ISTD teaching qualification with Distinction in the above disciplines. I graduated from De Monfort University in 1998 gaining a B.A. Hons Degree in Drama, Dance and English Literature.
It is my firm belief that the Performing Arts curriculum within a school should be nourished so it can enable all students to enhance and enrich their learning experiences by way of a broad and balanced range of performing arts activities and lessons. I strongly believe and advocate that Dance, Music and Drama develop children’s creativity, self- confidence, decision making and evaluative skills enabling them to become self-assured independent learners. I am passionate about teaching and learning and believe in inspiring students to take risks whilst enjoying the process of creativity as well as the end representation. Working with the Julliard is a truly amazing opportunity for both myself and for the delivery of an exceptional Performing Arts curriculum.
I am really excited to be moving to Dubai with my family which include two wonderful teenage girls who have a passion for the arts and who constantly keep me busy and entertained. We are all looking forward the amazing things that Dubai has to offer. Besides dancing I enjoy skiing and at the moment I am learning to play golf.
