Next week on Wednesday, October 16, students in grades 9-11 will sit for the PSAT (Preliminary SAT). While this test is essentially practice for students in grades 9 and 10, the test serves as an opportunity for students in grade 11 to qualify for the National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test. Regardless of the grade level, we hope that students take full advantage of sitting for the exam in this authentic testing environment. When the results from the test come, they provide valuable information to students and parents about possible future outcomes on the SAT. Parents can help support their children as they approach the test by ensuring that they get a great night of rest and have a healthy breakfast that is appropriate for their children. We recognize some students may need more to get them started than others in the morning, so we are hesitant to say that students need a big breakfast. Students will not have class the day of the PSAT, so they will not need to work on homework on Tuesday evening.
