The Windermere Preparatory Early Years and Lower School Curriculum
Our curriculum features daily routines around reading, writing, phonics, spelling, mathematics, science, social studies, life skills, and character development to foster our students’ creativity, teamwork, and independence. Students also explore enrichment activities in music, art, drama, Spanish, dance, chorus, band, strings, Science Lab, physical education, and the Knowledge Center.

MIDDLE SCHOOL

In grades 6, 7, and 8 of Middle School, our mission is to create well-rounded students, as students are exposed to a varied curriculum, one that requires creativity, hands-on experiences, and ownership of learning.  

Today’s world requires critical thinkers and problem solvers; thus, the Middle School Program of Study focuses on propelling our students to a higher level, engaging students in integrated studies that encourage independent thought and application of learning.  We concentrate on the “4 C’s” — communication, collaboration, creativity, and critical thinking — everywhere on our campus, in classrooms, at events, and among the student body.

The Windermere Preparatory Middle School Curriculum
The Middle School curriculum exposes all students to core subjects, including math, language arts, science, social studies, global languages, and physical education; additionally, students choose an area for fine arts exploration. The Windermere Preparatory High School Curriculum
While our rigorous curriculum includes a variety of many Honors and Advanced Placement (AP) courses, our academic focus at Windermere Preparatory High School is primarily around courses of the International Baccalaureate (IB) Program. Each high schooler’s class schedule is comprised of a combination of core classes (English, Mathematics, Science, Social Sciences, and World Languages) and electives. PUTTING HEART INTO OUR ART
In art class, we sculpt different hearts out of plaster and paint them. Each one has a distinct size, color, and message. We hang them from a tree’s branches, creating a “heart tree.” On formal days, we wear heart pins on our blazers.

In Physics Honors, we play with mini-race cars and ramps, adjusting the ramp height to accommodate the car’s journey. We use equations we’ve learned to know how to adjust the ramp angle, syncing it with the expected time on the stopwatch.
