HIGH SCHOOL SUMMER COURSES

Windermere Prep is excited to offer three course options to our current high school students this summer!

Personal Fitness (PE) - $1,200 // 0.5 Credit Course

June 3-June 21 (Schedule Varies, See Registration) // Instructor: Jon Griffiths

Personal fitness is a course that focuses on helping students develop a healthy lifestyle and habits that will build their physical literacy and guide them to make good choices. The class provides useful and practical information about health and wellness, physical fitness, and nutrition. Through various projects and experiential learning opportunities both on and off campus, students will explore the world around them to let them uncover areas of health that are important to them and ways that they can make lifelong choices that will positively affect them.

Intro to High School - $300

July 15-July 19 (9am-12pm) // Instructor: Chris Fouche

Rising 9th graders and new WPS High School students will have the chance to launch into high school with the right skills and tools needed to be successful as they start this new journey. The transition to the WPS high school can be filled with some uncertainty, but this course will help to take the guesswork out of what is to come. Students will build a variety of skills around time management/organization, learning about what the high school has to offer, advocating for self when talking with teachers, counselors, and peers, how to navigate the high school, and more. By the end of the course, which is taught by an experienced WPS high school teacher, students will feel more comfortable about navigating through the high school and have a solid set of skills that will help them reach their personal success.

Embracing the Learner Profile - $300

July 22-July 26 (9am-12pm) // Instructor: Kelly Freundt

Join us for an immersive summer camp experience designed to embody the spirit of the International Baccalaureate (IB) program. Throughout this enriching program, students will delve deep into the IB learner profile traits, gaining practical experience and understanding of how each trait contributes to educational and life success. Through engaging activities and hands-on projects, students will explore and embody the tenets of the IB learner profile, including being principles, knowledgeable, open-minded, reflective, and more. From teamwork challenges to ethical dilemmas, students will develop a holistic understanding of what it means to be an IB learner.
