Personal Fitness (PE) - $600 - for .5 Course Credit

Personal fitness is a course that focuses on helping students develop healthy lifestyles and habits that will build their physical literacy and guide them to make good choices. The class provides useful and practical information about health and wellness, physical fitness, and nutrition. Through various projects and experiential learning opportunities both on and off campus, students will explore the world around them to let them uncover areas of health that are important to them and ways that they can make lifelong choices that will positively affect them.
Intro to 9th Grade - $270
July 18-22 and July 25-29 // Instructor: Dr. Marietta Wright
Rising ninth grade students have a chance to launch into high school with the right skills and tools needed to be successful as they start this new journey. The transition to 9th grade can be filled with so much uncertainty, but this course will help to take some of the guesswork out of what is to come. Students will build a variety of skills around time management, study habits and techniques, advocating for self when talking with teachers and peers, how to navigate the high schol campus, and more. By the end of the course, which is taught by an experience 9th grade teacher, students will feel more comfortable about the first year of high school and have a solid set of skills that will help them reach their personal success.
AP Preparation - $270
July 18-22 (9am -12pm or 1pm - 4pm) // Instructor: Ashley Hollern
This course is for enrichment, best suited for students who are enrolled in AP Euro or AP US for the upcoming school year. In this course, students will work on skills that will be useful in the upcoming school year for respective AP History classes. Skills and activities will include: reading and note-taking strategies, KBAT/ID terms help, outlining, writing strategies for short answer, long essay, and DBQs. In addition, students will be exposed to various forms of resources that can be accessed the upcoming year and start to devise a study plan and work on time management.
