Music Teacher

As in international educator and avid adventurer, I have lived and taught in four countries and traveled to 43 different nations. I was born and raised in the USA, completed my Bachelor of Arts in Music Education and obtained a teaching certificate at Douglass College, Rutgers University.

After graduation, I embarked upon extensive travel around the world. As a flute player, I have spent many hours of study with various professional flutists around the world. My first international teaching post was in Japan, where I spent four years in the countryside, teaching English and learning the traditional Japanese art of kimono.

In my spare time I sang with a local choir and coached the choral director on the elocution of German and English lyrics. After marriage, and with children in tow, my family relocated to London, where I worked at Southbank International School. Whilst living in England, I became deeply involved and committed to the Suzuki Method of teaching and learning. Eight years later, we moved to Paris where I spent 2 years playing with the Association Symphonique de Paris under the direction of Franck Chatrusse.

In 2011, I relocated to Hong Kong for a three year post at Hong Kong Academy and finally joined NAISHK in 2015 as the Music Teaching and Learning Assistant. I am delighted to return next year as a Music Teacher and share my passion for music and learning with all of our delightful and talented students.
