During his time as an Assistant Headteacher in London, he had a number of different responsibilities. These included having oversight of the Pastoral System within the school which involved working closely with Heads of House and supporting students to help their time in education to be as positive and successful as possible. He also had a role in monitoring the quality of teaching and learning and student outcomes, by conducting departmental reviews helping all areas of the school ensuring they were being the best they could be. He also supported many colleagues and from further across East London with his work as a facilitator of the Improving and Outstanding Teacher Programmes – seeing colleagues develop their practice was a very satisfying aspect of his work.
Here at NAIS HK, he has returned to his earlier days of pastoral work and is a founding member of the school as Head of House. Helping the house System become firmly established during the first year and see it grow from there has been very rewarding.
Aside from this, He was Acting Deputy Head of Secondary for one year as a result of the expansion of the Secondary school before returning to Head of House the following year after believing I was leaving Hong Kong! Now I am supporting the school ELT as Acting Head of Pastoral and hope to make an impact for the benefit of the whole school, working with a team of fantastic Heads of House.
