Mr. Reid graduated from Canterbury Christchurch University with a BSc honours in Sport and Exercise Science, receiving recognition for Excellence in Sports Psychology. He previously taught PE across a broad range of year groups in both primary and secondary and was Head of Department in a highly successful Sports College. Having led an outstanding department and being crowned national champions in athletics, Mr. Reid set his sights further afield, moving to Hong Kong in 2014 as one of the founding members of staff for Nord Anglia International School. Mr Reid divides his time as a key member of the PE team and works across the whole school in middle leadership as a Head of House for the Pastoral department.
Mr. Reid believes that both PE and Pastoral play a pivotal role in shaping young people’s lives and are both the heartbeat and backbone of any successful school. He believes strongly in encouraging a healthy active lifestyle and in supporting the importance of pastoral provision that are fundamental in the well-being and success of the pupils and the school. He considers himself extremely lucky to have been given the opportunity to live and work with such a dynamic and resilient group of teachers and pupils.
Mr. Reid’s passion for the outdoor lifestyle has resulted with him being fortunate enough to coordinate and lead overseas trips for Nord Anglia. These have included residential camps, and service and safari trips to Tanzania. As a proud husband and father of two Mr. Reid enjoys the vast array of outdoor and sporting pursuits on offer in Hong Kong. He can often be found running the trails with his dog, exploring the waters on his paddle board and giving his time to managing and coaching at his local rugby club.
