Mr Trethewey is passionate about teaching business and economics, bringing both industry and entrepreneurial experience to the classroom. He believes that business and economics education must challenge and stretch students' abilities and be fun, engaging, and relevant to today's world. He instils a culture of academic rigour and gives ample opportunities for all to develop their communication, leadership, teamworking and problem-solving skills.
Mr Trethewey enjoys both trail and road running, cycling, swimming, and indulging in most sports in his spare time. He has completed several ultramarathon events including the Ultra-Trail Tai Mo Shan 100 miles, Hong Kong 100 Ultra-Trail and Racing The Planet Patagonia 250 kilometres races. He has also circumnavigated Taiwan by bike and cycled from Singapore to Krabi, Thailand. Mr Trethewey also enjoys high altitude mountaineering. He has summitted Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania (5,895 metres), Thorung La pass in Nepal (5,416 metres) and Mount Kinabalu in Malaysia (4,095 metres), and has bold ambitions to climb the world's highest peaks including Mount Everest!
