English Teacher, Higher Education Coordinator, CAS Coordinator

Susan graduated from University of Durham in 1998 with a First-Class Honours Degree in English Language and linguistics. After completing a PGCE in Secondary English and Drama Susan began her teaching career in 1999 at the British International School, Moscow, Russia, Nord Anglia Education. With many years’ experience of teaching GCSE and IB she will be joining the English Department at Nord Anglia International School, Hong Kong, Lam Tin.

I am so excited to be joining NAISHK this summer.  My husband and children have been at the school since it opened so I already know about the Christmas singing competitions, Books and Buns and Spooktakular! I will be joining the English Department in the Secondary school. I have been in education for over 20 years as a teacher and examiner.  I have taught at a variety of schools in a range of countries: UK, Russia, China and here in Hong Kong.  I have been an examiner of English for many years assessing IBDP, A’ Levels and IGCSEs.  I also deliver training around the world helping teachers improve their teaching.  I am passionate about English and I’m thrilled to be able to share some of my favourite texts with students at NAISHK.  When I am not teaching or marking exams, I love playing tennis, watching football and, of course, reading for my Book Club.
