Mr. Lopes holds an MA in Modern Foreign Languages (Hispanic & Germanic Studies), a BSc. In Tourism Management and is currently pursuing an MSC in Management with Marketing. He has wide experience in teaching IGCSE, A Levels and the IB Diploma. He was the Head of Modern Languages teaching Spanish and German at the University Technical College Plymouth in Devon, UK. Previously he taught at a British School in Thailand, Taiwan and in Nottingham, UK, teaching Spanish, German and French focusing on Secondary teaching.
Mr. Lopes originates from Sweden and Spain but grew up in Hamburg -Germany, and England where he spent most of his student and professional life. He speaks 6 languages fluently: English, Portuguese, Spanish, German, French, Italian and also some Dutch. He has also learned some Mandarin whilst in Taiwan and he hopes to continue learning the language in Hong Kong.
Mr. Lopes considers himself to be innovative and enthusiastic about all aspects of language teaching/learning. He has a genuine passion for language learning which compliments his zeal for travel, enabling him to keep his lessons fresh, relevant and highly topical.
His main hobbies are mountain-biking when in Europe, trekking, hiking, and diving. He also loves cooking Italian food, reading fantasy and science-fiction books, meditation and above all learning new languages, as well as writing about his travels.
