Head of Mathematics, Sixth Form B House Tutor

    Mr. M. Dolan

Mark Dolan graduated from the University of Durham in 2005 and has been teaching Mathematics for over 10 years. He has worked in London, Mexico City, Seoul and most recently our sister Nord Anglia school in Shanghai, delivering Higher Level Mathematics as part of the IB curriculum.

As a teacher Mr. Dolan believes in giving students the opportunity to investigate and discover the world of mathematics and endeavours to ensure students construct deep understanding of the topics as well as being able to apply that knowledge to solving problems.

In addition to a passion for mathematics, Mr. Dolan is an experienced Theory of Knowledge teacher, helping students develop their critical thinking skills by encouraging them to question the world around them. This demand for rigour and logic bleeds over into the Mathematics class.

  • Mr. S. Lukose

    Mr. S. Lukose

Mathematics Teacher, Sixth Form A House Tutor

    Mr. S. Lukose

Solomon holds a bachelor’s degree in Education, B.Ed Mathematics and Science option. His experience runs through several years teaching at international schools in his home country Kenya, as well as Tanzania and China. He has many years of experience as an examiner of Higher Level IB Mathematics with the International Baccalaureate Organisation (IBO). Solomon believes his success in teaching lies in the fact that he inspires the students he teaches to see Mathematics as a fascinating and fun-filled subject in which they can successfully investigate the rules of the mathematical universe. Many of Solomon’s students have achieved great success in Mathematics and have moved on to the best universities in the world to pursue Mathematics-related subjects.

Excited by the challenges and opportunities afforded by such a dynamic and forward looking school, Solomon decided to come to NAIS Hong Kong from NAIS Pudong China where he worked for 12 years to enhance his scope of international experience, and to work with students from diverse cultural backgrounds. He loves every moment of his work with students and enjoys seeing them gain confidence in Mathematics as a subject as opposed to viewing it as a difficult discipline.

Solomon loves football and has always been a coach of students in all the schools where he has worked. He played competitive football, as a striker in the Kenyan football premier league and he brings his passion for the game to all the teams that he coaches. Solomon also enjoys following new innovations in the field of science. He adores his wife Liz, and his three daughters Vanny, Pinky and Caro and says it’s always exciting and fun being with them.
