Student Led Learning Reflection Conferences

We live each day, immersed in the stories composed by the children, helping us to make deeper connections and relationships with each other through active listening.  We accept these invitations by the children with pleasure to belong and to be a part of their world. Through the Student Led Learning Reflection Conferences, we extend the invitation to the parents, to provide time for the children to proudly share their learning through their many ways of expression. We hope parents can appreciate how capable and competent the children are and in the words of Carlina Rinaldi view,

“The child as rich, powerful and a possessor of rights - rights as a citizen and rights to realise their potential.”

  • Flossie Early Years

After all the thoughtful planning that the children put into that went into these sessions, it was finally time for the Student Led Learning Reflection Conferences. The Early Years was full of excitement and bright smiles as the children brought their parents into our spaces and as they shared their learning with their parents.

"I liked playing with my daddy and we go outside and in. It was fun!” (Isabelle)

"I liked to show them my book and to be the teacher.” (Dasha)

"I liked to be the teacher and to show my mummy and daddy the mountain and the treehouse and playing outside with Juan and Noah.” (Sara)

"I played with mummy and daddy!” (Mikhail)

"I liked showing the tree house.” (Ella)

"I liked to show my mum my book.” (Jamison)

"I liked being the teacher at school and my dad was at school.” (Miles)

"I liked to show my mum my book!” (Otis)

“I had fun with you! (referring to mummy)” (Olli)

It was a joy to see how the children’s ideas were realised with and through the participation of their parents. Thank you!
