Congratulations to Year 3 BISH students,Sam and Jack, whose work has been published in the second Nord Anglia Education Comic Book, bringing us some of the best in storytelling from our Under 8s!
The Comic Book Competition was created to enable our younger students to share stories with us, using a combination of visual and written representation. In this year's competition, students were invited to represent their perceptions and understandings of another of the UNICEF Global Goals, this time Goal 4: Quality Education. This extends Nord Anglia's collaboration with UNICEF and shows our ongoing commitment to growing our students' international mindedness.
Students were asked to think critically about the themes around Goal 4 and to develop a superhero to combat real world problems associated with it. Their superhero was to spot a problem and take clear steps to solve it. We hope you find their stories as imaginative and exciting as we did.
Members of our Nord Anglia family helped judge the comic book entries based on writing skills, creativity and problem solving. We were then honoured to share our shortlisted entries with Billy Tan from Marvel comics, who not only judged our winning stories, but also re-imagined the superheroes from those stories and illustrated them for us. It is those superheroes you see on the front cover of this comic.
As ever, it was inspirational to see students digging deeper, connecting with the Global Goals and producing inspirational pieces. We would like to congratulate all students who entered the Comic Book Competition and look forward to even more entries next year.
Congratulations Sam and Jack, a fantastic achievement.
