We are delighted to announced Abdullah has been formally recognized with a certificate of distinction for participation in the Foundation for Teaching Economics programme. The Foundation for Teaching Economics introduces young leaders to an economic way of thinking & promotes excellence in economic education.
With a goal to uplift the economy and health of less-privileged communities, it is no surprise Head Boy at The British International School of Houston, Abdullah was selected to attend the Economics for Leaders programme this past summer, where on average there is one spot for every two applicants. This was one of the twenty-one Economics for Leaders programmes conducted by the Foundation for Teaching Economics virtually due to Covid-19.
Each of these week-long, education programmes helps approximately 30 high school students from around the world gain a better understanding on how to intergrate economics into decision-making. During the week, students explore the correlation between economics and leadership though challenging activities and simulations.
Programme Goals Include:
- Give students the knowledge to understand the economic concepts shaping the global economy
- Foster students’ commitment to continued learning about economics and leadership
- Help students discover their potential as they learn to develop and implement effective leadership skills
- Increase students’ marketable skills of how to work effectively in teams while at a distance
Being recognized with a certificate of distinction for participation in the programme is outstanding and we hope you will join us in congratulating Abdullah on his outstanding accomplishment.
We asked our future leader what his aspirations are and where the future is taking him and our future leader replied:
" My goal is to uplift the economy and health of less-privileged communities."
Wonderful answer Abdullah! There is no limit to what you will achieve!
