Each Fall and Spring, we take students to visit college campuses, providing a first-hand experience of campus life. During college visits, our students have the opportunity to learn more about the college from meetings with current college students, admissions officers, faculty and staff. Students tour the campus, see where they will take their classes, where they will eat, sleep and socialize. They get a “feel” for the campus that they can consider when making final application choices.
On these trips, students are able to see the flagship universities of Texas, but they are also able to experience the unique differences present in each college campuses. Experiencing this first-hand is an invaluable opportunity for students when they are selecting universities to which they plan to apply. Some of the colleges we regularly visit include University of Texas-Austin, University of Houston, Rice University, and Texas A&M University.
Each Spring, our students participate in several college and university recruiting fairs. These college and university fairs bring our students in direct contact with more than 200 college admissions officers, providing families an opportunity to gain more insight and information about which colleges to seriously consider. The National Association of College Advising Counselors (NACAC) brings together more than 150 college and university representatives to meet with students and their parents. Area and regional high schools collaborate and bring together more than 80 international colleges and universities to Houston to inform parents and students about the benefits and advantages of international opportunities.
While the college visit trips are open to all students, space is limited and reservations fill quickly.
