Small Size Classes

With small class sizes, our teachers deliver personalised learning to each child enabling them to excel in all areas of the curriculum.

International Baccalaureate

The International Baccalaureate (IB) is a globally renowned educational programme which enhances your childs ability to learn together for a better world. The IB aims to do more than other curricula by developing inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who are motivated to succeed.

The Primary Years Programme (PYP)

The Primary Years Programme (PYP)

The IB Primary Years Programme provides the structure for your child's education from ages 3-11. It offers the first step in developing globally-minded confident learners.

This inquiry-based programme encourages your child to be an open-minded risk taker, while also being caring, reflective and knowledgeable. These characteristics, embodied in the IB Learner Profile, create an important foundation for the rest of the IB curriculum.

Age 3-5

The early years of the IB Primary Years Programme provides a strong educational pathway for your child. They will develop their:

  • curiosity;
  • exploration;
  • questioning;
  • thinking;
  • enthusiasm for their surroundings.

Enhancing Your Child's Desire to Learn

Our approach to learning in the early years encourages learning that plays into the natural curiosity of a young child with the world around them. Our teachers are there to facilitate and shape that learning.

Combined with the IB Primary Years Programme, we embrace your child's natural need and desire to learn, and their innate creativity in doing so. At this stage we are focused on helping them learn to learn and love to learn instead of just acquiring knowledge of facts and skills.

Age 5-11

From ages 5-11 your child will expand their international education, still following the IB Primary Years Programme. A theme-based approach to learning will help them to understand how different subjects of study relate to each other and to their world.

The six themes of study are:

  • Who we are;
  • Where we are in place and time;
  • How we express ourselves;
  • How the world works;
  • How we organise ourselves;
  • Sharing the planet.

Through these six themes your child will develop skills, knowledge, and understanding of concepts and ideas in:

  • Science;
  • Arts;
  • Mathematics;
  • Social studies;
  • Languages;
  • Physical, social and personal education.

Through this exciting and challenging theme-based curriculum they will learn how to apply their learning to a range of novel situations.

The Middle Years Programme (MYP)

If your child is aged 11-16 they will follow our middle school curriculum designed to broaden their thinking and explore world issues.

The MYP has a strong focus on developing attitudes, values and skills. In essence the programme doesn't just offer facts and knowledge, but a deep understanding of how to learn and how to apply their learning. This is developed through the MYP:

  • In grades 6 - 8 your child will lay the foundations for future study honing their skills in creativity, communication, collaboration and critical thinking.
  • In grades 9 and 10 your child will have more responsibility and develop in-depth research projects that allow their understanding to be demonstrated.
  • IB eAssessment in the MYP secondary library explaining painting
  • Secondary library English post students sharing a book smiling
  • ICS Secondary students in class

The Diploma Programme (DP)

From ages 16 through to 18 your child will follow the prestigious International Baccalaureate Diploma programme, preparing them for access to the world's best universities.

The IB Diploma is highly regarded by universities and colleges around the world. It is respected for being academically rigorous, for developing strong personal skills and for developing a clear understanding of the impact of their learning on the world.

The IB Diploma provides a structure in which your child will develop individual research skills and play an active role in developing their own learning. It enables them to gain a much deeper understanding not just of what they learn, but also of how they learn.

The core programme consists of three main strands:

  • Theory of Knowledge - a course on critical thinking and understanding how we learn and build knowledge.
  • The Extended Essay - a in-depth independent research project relating to one of the subjects they are studying.
  • Creativity, Action and Service (CAS) - a range of activities alongside their academic studies to develop creative skills, health and wellbeing, and a commitment to the communities in which they live.

For the core academic curriculum, your child must choose one subject from each of the following five groups:

  • Studies in language and literature
  • Language acquisition
  • Individuals and society
  • Sciences
  • Mathematics

They will also take a sixth subject which can either be a second subject from one of the above groups, or may be an arts subject.
