Dear Parents and Students,
I am emailing you about the emerging situation in the UK. The Prime Minister has just announced at the daily press conference that UK schools will shut on Friday until further notice. While he did not speculate on when they would reopen, he has also announced that there will be no GCSE or A Level examinations in the UK May or June this year.
NAE as a schools group is working with the A level and GCSE examination boards in the UK to find out what this means for international examinations and will have further information on this as soon as it is available. This includes UCAS/universities who have not had time to respond to this UK directive yet.
BSKL Secondary Leadership Team is working with our exam boards to get a clearer picture of what that means for us. We have already heard from Cambridge International Exams Board that they are planning to go ahead with international exams.
The Secondary Leadership Team will speak to the following year groups via Google meet this morning. Parents welcome to join in. Please mute microphones for this. We will take Q&A via comment function at the end of the meeting.
Please carry on with the online learning as normal and thank you to everyone for being so resilient. Our teachers are continuing to prepare online lessons for all year groups. They remain enthused and focused on providing excellent online learning opportunities.
We will keep in touch as more news comes through.
Warm regards,
Janet Brock
Principal
