Dear Parents,
I am writing to make you aware that the Director General of Health, Datuk DR Noor Hishan Abdullah has recommended that we should defer trips to territories or cities declared as Covid – 19 epidemic areas in the People’s Republic of China as previously stated but also South Korea, Japan, Italy and Iran. Based on the advice of the Ministry of Health, as seen here, if students or family members who visited South Korea, Italy, Singapore, Japan or Hong Kong in the last 14 days exhibit any symptoms such as fever or a cough upon their return, they should seek medical advice and self quarantine for a 14 day period.
As added protection, BSKL is asking that those families who have visited China, the Lombardy Region of Italy, Daegu and Cheongdu in S Korea or Japan in the last 14 days, self quarantine for 14 days from landing in KL and return to school with a medical note from a registered medical practitioner. Please let your child's teacher know so we can provide online learning.
Based on the travel declaration form the school sent out last week, 46 families travelled over this short break. Thank you for taking the time to complete this form. I will be sending out another travel declaration form for the Easter break and advise when planning your travel be aware of the CDC information for travel, plus what the MOH has recommended.
As a member of our community, I can only ask that you continually consider your travel plans and those of anyone you spend time with, and that you act in a way that will keep all members of our community safe.
Warm regards,
Janet Brock
