Primary Leaders Hero Pic

Developing BSY's Young Leaders for the 21st Century

At BSY in addition to academic success, we believe in personal and social growth by developing young leaders for the 21st century! This is encouraged by providing opportunities for students to be responsible, use initiative and develop their leadership skills, all of which Primary students over the past few weeks have been doing! Here at BSY there is something for everyone and key roles were available to Primary students across Year 1 to Year 6 to become; Playground Leaders, Student Councilors, Eco Councilors & House Captains.

Primary Playground Leaders 2019

Working on personal attributes and following an ethic of ‘Work Hard, Be Kind’, all students who put themselves forward for these roles, reflected ‘hard work’ through preparations and evidence gathering for their pitch, many challenging themselves by standing up in front of their classmates, which takes courage and confidence alone, coupled with the desire and empathy to ‘be kind’ and help others if elected.

Not only do these roles develop crucial key skills for the future, but they instil a sense of pride in the students, creating life long memories and a deep sense of achievement of their time at school.

After voting took place, successful candidates were announced in assembly last week. Congratulations to the elected representatives, and to all the students who were involved.

Brief descriptions of work undertaken in these roles are shown below, highlighting just how important they are in collaboration with the school community to help improve the daily life of the school.
