Athletic Transportation

Athletics transportation is available exclusively for MET athletes and coaches.

On-Site Practices

The MET will offer transportation services after athletics practices to the following areas:

  • Canal Zone area (includes Clayton, Albrook, Balboa, Ancon, Curundu, Diablo, Los Ríos and Cardenas)

  • Camino de Cruces

  • Panama Center (includes San Francisco, Punta Pacífica, Paitilla, Ave Balboa, Marbella, Obarrio, El Cangrejo, La Cresta and Tumba Muerto)

  • Costa del Este

These routes will not be the same as the regular morning nor after-school routes. The school asks that parents understand that traffic and other circumstances may result in the bus pick-up/drop-off times varying. If a student requires transportation services but does not live in the listed areas, parents should contact the MET Transportation Team to coordinate a drop-off point.

Due to morning training times and distance of training facilities, transportation is not provided for the following sports: triathlon, senior swim, tennis, and cayuco.

Off-Site Practices

The Metropolitan School Athletic Department will supply transportation to all off-site practice locations when necessary.

Games

Transportation to all games is by school bus or van. Students will always be accompanied by the coach on the bus.Team members are required to travel to and from games with the team. In unusual circumstances, with written parental permission and approval by the Athletic Director, a student may drive to and from a game.

All students must return to school with the team, unless picked up by a parent/legal guardian or there is written permission to go home with another adult. All parents must follow the sign-out procedures in order to take their child from any away games.

After week-day away games, the MET will only offer transportation services back to the MET. Parents will be responsible for providing pick-up for their children at the school. The Athletic Department will send out an email with the approximate arrival time.

In competitions that occur during the weekend, parents will be responsible for providing transportation to and from the games. It is the students' and parents' responsibility to arrive to the games on time in order to participate.
