Last Wednesday: Primary School Maths Parent Workshop
On Wednesday 9th November, parents were invited to attend a Primary School Maths Workshop as presented by Kiara Gray, Ian Rinaldi and Kara Lebihan who all shared a range of activities, ideas and examples to help children and parents with maths. Click here to see the presentation.
Carols by Candlelight
On the 1st and 2nd December, DCIS will celebrate the festive Christmas season by bringing the DCIS community together in an evening of live music and drama for Years 3 and upwards in the DCIS 'Carols by Candlelight'. Please note that Nursery, Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 will have their own separate Christmas assembly on the 14th December. Click to read more.

UPCOMING DATES AND DEADLINE

- 30th November – Lego Challenge Deadline - Primary
- 19th December - Creative Writing competition deadline
CREATIVE WRITING COMPETITION – Year leaders and English teachers will be sharing plans for the Creative Writing Competition in their classes shortly – please note that to enter you must register online at the Global Campus.
DEBATE LEAGUE – Details for registration meetings will be shared this week. You must attend the relevant meeting for your age group to sign up to register your interest. Depending on numbers a selection process may follow to earn your place on the teams - good luck!
EXPEDITIONS – Students from the Secondary school are off to Tanzania this week! We wish them the best of luck and hope they have an amazing time!
LEGO CHALLENGE – The Primary Lego challenge is live! Go to the yellow button on the Primary Area to register and take part. The theme is ‘Future’ and requires a 15 minute Lego challenge and photograph to be uploaded. Good luck, we hope to see lots of DCIS participation! Everyone who takes part will earn a certificate of participation.
PRIMARY PASSPORTS – All students in Y4-6 should have received their Global Campus Passports last week. We hope you have a great time using them and completing all the challenges throughout the year. Remember, not all challenges will be live yet, so keep checking back and reading this update weekly so you know when challenges go live. Your class teachers will tell you what day to bring them in for stamping each week.

DCA Updates
We would like to thank all parents and teachers for attending our DCA Parent Quiz Night, an amazing evening with incredible participation. Please remember that our next event will be the DCA Christmas Fair on 10th December.

Swimming Gala Week Calendar Change
We have announced a change to the Swimming Gala dates to 19th – 23rd June, 2017. Please mark this on all your calendars as the event will no longer take place on 21st to 25th November.

Parents have now been informed of the move to a biometrics food ordering process for Year 3 and above. The introductory letter and biometrics permission form can be found on our Parent Essentials website in the 'School Lunches' webpage.
