2017-2018 School Opening Preparation and Orientation

Over the summer, we will be launching Orientation and Calendar forms and information on the Parent Essentials webpage and our website Calendar. We will update DCIS families once all the links are updated and working; however, the following are already available to access:

DCIS Student Contracts - DocuSign

DCIS recently adopted a web-based service so we can process the DCIS Student Contract electronically as provided by our vendor, DocuSign. We have adopted this service to make it easier for parents to complete the CPE required Student Contract with us. A link to student contracts for each of your children at DCIS has been e-mailed to Parent 1 on our School Database. Please ensure these are completed by 1st August 2017. If you should require any assistance, please do not hesitate to contact our Admissions and Compliance Team at studentcontracts@dovercourt.edu.sg

Ten Feet Tall School Shoe Collection Campaign

Have your children outgrown their black school shoes? Instead of tossing them into the bin, Ten Feet Tall – DCIS's school shoe shop of choice – will be popping up on Wednesday 5th July (day before the last day of term) to collect pre-loved school shoes for their School Shoe Bank.

DCA Parent Association

Used Uniform Sale - Time change

The DCA will be hosting a used uniform sale from 2.00pm to 4.00pm in Cooper Hall on Thursday, 6th July. Please note that this is different from the advertised time and used uniform can be dropped off at School Reception until Thursday morning.

Please review the DCA webpage for information on events coming up and also for minutes of recent DCA meetings.

Year 6 Celebrations

Year 6 parents have been invited to come and join Year 6 for our Celebration Afternoon on Wednesday 5th July. Events will begin at 1.30pm in the Cooper Hall, where we will be reflecting upon our Primary School years, sharing fond memories, enjoying delicious food, watching bands perform and playing 'Are You Smarter Than a Ten Year Old?' We look forward to sharing this special afternoon with you all.

Global Campus: The Week Ahead (w/c 3rd July)

Indira and Sameeksha in Year 10 have been refreshing their knowledge of the World Health Organization and the Global Goals. They have been in the TV studio recording their video letters that will be sent to Singapore UN representatives. During their lunch breaks, they have been collaborating with each other and discussing how they are going to influence the politicians at the UN’s High Level Political Forum on sustainable development this July.

Sameeksha on what she is looking forward to getting out of the UNICEF Summit:

“I hope to learn new skills and gain a different perspective to world issues with the help of other Nord Anglia students.

I am also looking forward to making long lasting friendships with students who come from different parts of the world and share the dream of making the world a safer, healthier and more equal place for everyone.

I believe that the UNICEF summit will help me understand world issues and how we can tackle them with our global goals, teaching me the importance of good cooperation and involvement of young members of our community who will be our future leaders.”

Keep an eye out for #NAEUNICEF, especially from 12-19 July to check out the action!

Applications are closed for the Summer Performing Arts Programme with Juilliard that is taking place in July at College du Leman in Switzerland. We’ve been overwhelmed with applications and are pleased that a number of Nord Anglia students from around the network will be joining us this summer to learn from the Juilliard Faculty. We’re currently looking at ways to extend the programme for 2018.

Primary students, secondary students and staff have been asked to complete a survey about the Global Library. The main aim is to identify the most popular books from this year’s lists but also to gather more information and ideas about the scheme to improve it in the future. Thank you to all those who have completed it already.

Have a great week all. Please don't hesitate to contact us with any queries you may have, and keep in contact! We love to see and hear what you have been up to with the Global Campus.

The Global Campus Team

Wishing you a safe and wonderful family break!

Best wishes,

Mr. Christopher Short
