Staff Profile: Dominique Pemberton

Dominique Pemberton

Nursery Class Teacher (NDP)

Dominique graduated with a Bachelor of Education in Primary Education from the University of Chester.

Following graduation, Dominique spent two years teaching Year 3 at an ‘outstanding’ school in Chester. During this time she was appointed the Art and Design Coordinator, supporting the school to achieve Artsmark Gold. She was also subject specialist for PE and creative arts, encouraging the children to take part in competitive sport. Dominique has taught across a range of year groups and has gained experience in different settings.

Dominique enjoys being actively involved in the junior musical performances. She has previously taught ISTD dance and enjoyed working with the children to choreograph creative dances and develop their performance skills.

Whilst studying at university, Dominique spent time teaching at an international school in Sweden and since then has enjoyed visiting new places whenever she can.  More recently, she spent time volunteering at an orphanage school in Malawi, experiencing a contrasting culture. Here she taught in the preschool and improved their learning environment with limited resources, which involved painting the classroom displays directly onto the walls! This was a most rewarding opportunity which fuelled Dominique’s ambition to work and live abroad.

Traveling remains important to Dominique and she is thoroughly enjoying visiting neighbouring countries whilst working in Singapore.  Alongside her passion for travel and experiencing different cultures, she loves to play netball, attend ballet classes and still tries to fit in some socialising with friends.
