Patrick Dwyer

Patrick Dwyer

Secondary School Head of Music, NAE Regional Lead (SEA)

Patrick Dwyer graduated from the University of Auckland with a BMus (Honours) in jazz performance and composition, and holds a Graduate Diploma of Teaching.

Patrick has over 18 years of experience in music education at primary, intermediate and secondary levels, and has worked actively as a concert guitarist and composer in Germany and New Zealand. Music’s emotive power is what drives Patrick’s passion for teaching, as he aims for all students to experience the joy of being a musician through experiential learning. Patrick believes that an education that fosters creativity through the arts empowers young minds to realise the own talents within them, while helping to discover the world around them.

Outside of teaching, Patrick enjoys being a father to his young family and combining his love of music and travel to produce mini-documentaries with his wife.
