Details of some of the exciting Global Campus initiatives for the 2016-2017 academic year

A new year is here and Global Campus has some old favourites and fun new initiatives in store for NAE students!

In the coming weeks all students, both returning and new, will be issued a new or reset Global Campus login so that they are able to enter The Global Campus Online through the school Moodle site https://singapore.learn.nae.school. The Global Campus Online gives the students access to lots of curriculum based activities and materials, live discussion forums with students from across our family of 43 schools, news about competitions and exciting innovative challenges to be released across the year.

All students at DCIS will be given the opportunity to take part in activities related to the Global Campus across the year, including the Creative Writing Competition, the next Big Challenge and the Global Library. Whilst logins are being created, students can begin to access the Global Library books in the Primary and Secondary library. Twenty books have been selected for each age group (Under 8, KS1-2, KS3 and KS4) to read. Once the Global Campus goes live there will be quizzes and book club forums on the Global Campus Online for students to participate in.

Fundraising will also soon begin for our Secondary students going on the Global Campus Worldwide expedition to Tanzania in November. Students will be raising funds to contribute towards the service projects being completed on behalf of the DCIS community, which will include building a Primary school, installing smokeless stoves in community housing, and restoring community goat sheds. Don’t forget you can also participate in the ‘Design a T-shirt’ competition open to all students – closing date is Tuesday 13th September!

Many thanks,

The Global Campus Team
