DCIS is full of talent, and we are really excited to launch Dover’s Got Talent, our brand new platform for students to share their talents. We have already had numerous requests from all year groups, with many of our students ready to show off their skills ranging from musical acts to short plays.

See the FAQ below to further explain this upcoming initiative.

Who can participate?

Students from Year 3 – Year 12

What kind of acts qualify?

Talents can include, but are not limited to, singing, dancing, gymnastics, acting, comedy sketch, magic trick or playing a musical instrument.

When does it start?

The first round of auditions will be held on or before Friday 20th January, within class time.

What are the rules?
  • Students may audition for only one act (of no more than 3 minutes)
  • Students may perform solo, with a partner or with a team

  • Students may wear a costume but it should reflect our school’s dress code

  • Students should have their music ready at the time of audition
  • Students may not lip sync or sing along with a recorded voice
  • Unfortunately parents are not allowed for the first round of auditions but are welcome to attend the final performance in March

Timeline:

Friday 20th January: Audition Day
Each class will vote for their two representatives and these students will go forward to Round 2 and the class teacher will submit their names to Ms Mc Kernan.

End-January: Round 2
In Round 2, students will be invited to record their performance in our TV studio. These videos will then be shared and available for viewing and voting

Feb - March: Performance
The final winners will be announced on Friday 10th February and they will get to perform at a celebration assembly on 3rd March.

We look forward to seeing all talent on display here at DCIS.

Good luck to all our participants!
