Working hard to achieve realistic goals and resolutions

In keeping with our New Year theme, this week the Upper Primary School enjoyed Ms Lebihan’s assembly on setting and achieving goals. Using the Book of Guinness World Records to show some examples of the amazing goals that people have set themselves and worked hard at to achieve with examples including Joe Allison, who broke the record for hanging the most spoons off his face.

Other examples from the book include Pete Glazebrook who grew the world's heaviest onion, Ashrita Furman who won the world record for walking the greatest distance whilst balancing a milk bottle on his head and Don Athey of Bridgeport, who holds the record for stacking the most golf balls vertically without the use of glue or sticky tape. Students enjoyed having a go at some of the amazing goals but found it very hard, and unfortunately, we did not break any world records during assembly.

In the end, we agreed that our own goals need to be more realistic and achievable, and we enjoyed sharing some examples of our own New Year Resolutions.
