Upon arrival, we had a fun afternoon swimming at the hotel before meeting the rest of the competition at the welcome dinner. Then it was early to bed in preparation for the big day ahead.
After a good night's sleep, the children were up bright and early and full of excitement. They had a fantastic first day having completed a jungle trail and several other team challenges. They answered every question they were given - some harder than others and a real challenge! The children collaborated incredibly well together and really gelled as a team with each child having their own part to play; they supported and encouraged each other non-stop. The day was rounded off with an exciting boat trip to see the Proboscis Monkeys, a lovely dinner on the waterfront and a visit to the Eco-Corridor.
The second day of activities started off with several challenging independent activities followed by a very exciting parachute making activity whereby the children had to ensure their un-boiled egg arrived safely on the ground after being dropped from the second floor. It was a tough competition which resulted in some fantastic contraptions!
We are so proud of the children, their incredible efforts and their positive attitude towards the whole weekend. It was a tough and competitive challenge for them but one in which they showed real determination and resilience throughout.
We are delighted to confirm that we came 13th out of the 29 schools that participated. A huge congratulations to Anirudh (6RC), Hanayo (6CP), Noel (6CP) and Amani (6CP) for their fantastic achievements.
