We are very excited to welcome a new school nurse - Meet Nurse Carina!
Q: Hi Nurse Carina, welcome to Dover Court! Can you please tell us a bit about your background.
A: I have worked as a nurse for 8 years. Before working in Dover Court International School, I worked as a home nurse and cared for my patients in the comfort of their homes.
Q: What’s your favourite thing with being a school nurse?
A: I do love to talk to the younger children, they have so many fun stories to tell me. There is a lot of energy around a school and there is always something going on.
Q: How do you find our school so far?
A: It is a very extraordinary environment to work in. The students have been very welcoming and sweet. I am learning so much in this school, that most nurses will not be able to, it being such a diverse place.
Q: What are your top three health tips to our students?
A: As we are facing so many outbreaks all over the world, please do 1) Wash your hands frequently, 2) Drink plenty of water, 3) Eat your fruits and vegetables!
Q: What do you enjoy doing when you are not busy helping our students?
A: I enjoy exploring the different neighbourhoods, Singapore has so much to offer. I also like keeping healthy and looking after myself.
Q: What can the nurses at Dover Court help with?
A: Should your child feel unwell while they are in school, me and my colleague, Nurse Sandra are here to help. We provide basic first aid and most minor ailments or cuts and scrapes can be dealt with simply and quickly. If we feel that your child is not likely to recover quickly we will contact you by telephone.
