Staff Profile: Jonathan Fisher

Jonathan Fisher

10/11 JF: DSE Pathways Humanities, IT and ASDAN Specialist

Jonathan graduated from Manchester Metropolitan University and is a Year 9/10 DSE Class Teacher

Jonathan started working with young people in 2003 when he went to an American Summer camp at the end of his Geography degree.  It was an inspiring experience and that led him to work as a teaching assistant in a school for young people with severe special and behavioural needs. This work was thoroughly inspiring and led him to train as a teacher.

He worked for several institutions around Manchester and Liverpool and has always been someone who loves to travel having been to many countries which included spending a year living in Australia as part of his degree. He felt that Dover Court was an ideal opportunity to work in a great teaching environment, facilitate a travel bug and enhance his career. He has a very positive outlook and lives by the motto ‘Everything begins with yes’.  This has led him to being in the staff choir, despite not being able to sing and also playing the part of Toto the dog on two occasions.  He enjoys exercise and plays a variety of sports including football and squash on a regular basis.
