Staff Profile: Amy Wells

Amy Wells

Physical Education Teacher

Amy gained her teaching qualification at Bangor University where she studied Primary Education with a specialism in Physical Education. She later added to her qualifications by studying for a Masters of Arts in Education part time while she was working as a teacher.

Amy is joining Dover Court from the British School Kuwait where she worked as a PE teacher for 2 years and a Reception class teacher for one year, in this role she has been a part of leading the sports council along with many sports activities. She has always enjoyed exploring new places and meeting new people so Singapore will be an exciting challenge. Before joining British School Kuwait Amy had worked in both Saudi Arabia and in the UK where she led many sports teams and also delivered the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award.

Amy is extremely passionate about keeping active and loves any opportunity to get moving, this is why teaching PE is such a great fit. She loves working with children helping to develop their interest in sports. Amy is always working hard to think of new games which will engage children and help them develop all of the skills they need to be successful.

Outside school Amy practices what she preaches by taking part in sports teams and enjoying a sweaty Crossfit session. She loves to cook which is good because after all the running around Amy is always hungry.
