Marania's research project was focused on the development of social skills for students with ASD. Further to these studies, Marania has successfully completed various courses focused on how to differentiate teaching. In addition, her two years training in Systemic Approach were a great opportunity for Marania to further develop her professional, interpersonal and intrapersonal skills.
During her teaching career Marania has had the pleasure of teaching diverse groups of students, including those with ASD, Dyslexia, Dyscalculia, ADHD, Emotional Behavioural Difficulties and Developmental Language Disorder. These experiences have shaped her to become a well-rounded and compassionate teacher, who takes each student's unique goals, needs, and interests into account and while keeping an open and constant communication with parents/guardians and other professional groups as well.
Marania joined DCIS in August 2017. She is enthusiastic and proud of being part of our community since she strongly believes that DCIS offers a unique educational experience for students and teachers! She enjoys participating in our school's training, workshops and extra-curricular activities. Since joining the DCIS community Marania has completed the AMBITIOUS coaching model course devised by Nord Anglia Education, as well as the MAPA and First Aid Training. She has taught Science across all KS3 P2 groups, as well as the Entry Level Science for KS4 students. She works hard to support students in order to develop their knowledge and skills in science by differentiating her teaching and the material provided to them. She has high expectations from her students and she continuously supports them to become autonomous learners and to achieve their best.
Outside of school, Marania maintains an active lifestyle involving herself in many different activities such as Taekwondo and gym. She also loves to make her own clothes, as well as to travel around Asia.
