Whilst studying at university, Dominique spent time teaching at an international school in Sweden. She also volunteered at an orphanage school in Malawi, where she thrived on experiencing a contrasting culture. Here she taught in the preschool, improving their learning environment with limited resources, which involved painting the classroom displays directly onto the walls! This was a rewarding opportunity which fuelled Dominique’s ambition to work with children.
Dominique is driven by her desire to develop each and every child and hence she plans lessons which promote creative thinking and problem solving. She believes in allowing children the freedom and opportunity to develop their own interests and ideas through independent learning and by showing their individual creativity. She promotes creativity across all subjects, creating stimulating and engaging ways to teach the curriculum, thereby placing children at the very centre of learning.
In her spare time, Dominique enjoys travel and has taken the opportunity to visit many neighbouring countries whilst working in Singapore. Alongside her passion for travel and experiencing different cultures, she loves to play netball and attend ballet classes.
